Christmas Traditions

IMG_2758

Every year, for quite some time, we’ve gotten our Christmas tree on Christmas Eve. Dad maintains that it’s because we don’t celebrate Christmas until LJ’s birthday is over. However, we all know that it’s really because we got a tree for free one year (procrastination win!).

We used to drive around, searching for a still-open tree stand at 5pm, but for a few years now, we’ve gone to the same one. Conveniently, it’s next door to an Indian grocery story that sells fresh samosas and other parcels of deliciousness.

A while ago, Dad was telling a coworker about this tradition and she asked if we got the tamarind sauce to go with them. We did not, but now we do! These are our appetizers before the Christmas Eve *however many fishes we feel like making* Fishes Dinner.
