There was a death in the family if you must know.

No, not my akita, Evita.*

This unplanned gap in posting was due to going upstate for my Nana’s funeral. Well, that took up some of the time. The rest of the time was spent recovering from the cold-cut-overload (Italians like to bury the grief with food) and getting back to work.

Cooking hasn’t been top of my list, obviously. Sunday night, I picked up some beef brisket soup with hand pulled noodles and a side of greens with oyster sauce from Nan Zhou. Last night was the leftovers from that. Tonight?

Mm.

There was a trip to Han Dynasty, that was so, so good and will be discussed sometime soon.

Hm. I also need to download the pictures and write about Danielle’s birthday brunch at Sabrina’s. Which was….January? Frig, man. February was rough.

*If you read the title and this line and immediately thought/sang “Mimi, I’m surprised! A bright and charming girl like you, hangs out with these slackers, who don’t adhere to deals!” then we are friends.

whoa, mine too! If only it was a funny coincidence instead of sad. 😦 Nana loved Chris, oh Chris are ya hungry?

Let’s not have any more coincidences like that?

so sorry to hear about your Nana. i’m Italian too…you gotta love coldcut lunches at the Sons of Italy hall afterwards.

I totally cracked up when I read the title and first line of your post. That’s my second fave song from Rent!

Thank you! I’m still recovering from the delicious onslaught of food that people dropped off. The meat trays were the best, followed closely by a large tray if sausage and peppers.
